Matthew A. “Dutch” Polnack 90, of Sweetwater passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Broadway Baptist Church with Dr. Chris Stephens and Rev. Joe Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Pyron Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home. A family visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Friday, May 18, 2018 at the funeral home.

Matthew was born July 4, 1927 in Pyron, TX to the late George Francis and Bertha C. (Schwarz) Polnack. He married Beaulah May Walton on July 3, 1956 in Sweetwater, TX. Matthew worked as a heavy equipment operator for USG for 41 years before retiring. He was a member of Broadway Baptist Church and a past member of the Gun and Rifle Club and the CB and Radio club.

Matthew is survived by his daughter, Debbie Trotter of Sweetwater; sisters, Bettie Jo Fry and husband Jerry of Sweetwater, Katherine Williams of Flower Mound, TX; daughter-in-law Kathrine Polnack of Sweetwater; sisters-in-law, Nancy Soles of Sweetwater and Bonnie Polnack of Sweetwater; brothers-in-law, Ricky Walton and wife Whitney of Sweetwater, Glenn Walton and wife MiMi of Burnet, TX; grandchildren, Jared Trotter and wife Maranda of Sweetwater, Jami Smith and husband Brian of Balch Springs, DeeAnne Jones and husband Ronnie of Kyle, TX, Matt Polnack and wife Stacy of Sweetwater, Dennise Polnack of Sweetwater; seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife Beaulah Polnack on October 4, 1997, son Andy Polnack on December 5, 2016.

Pallbearers will be Brian Smith, Chris Soles, Jody Walton, Marcus Silvas, Basil Staggs and Stan Creed.

Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Broadway Baptist Church.
