May 8, 1946 - January 28, 2018 Ms. Jacqueline “Jackie” Poynter, 71, of Richmond passed away Sunday, January 28, 2018 at her home.
Ms. Poynter, the daughter of William L. Moores and Betsy Farley Moores, was born in Madison County on May 8, 1946. She retired from Dr. Gordon & Dr. Salter’s office as office manager. She went on to work for Commonwealth Health Management. Her grandchildren and dog, Cooper, were the loves of her life. She had attended Newby Baptist Church.
Survivors include: her son: John William Poynter and wife Emily of Richmond and three grandchildren: Bradley William, Betsy Jane and Brody John.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Poynter was also preceded in death by John’s father, L. Gayle Poynter and her brother, John Alan Moores.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Bro. Scott Guiley officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Robbie Bales, Ed White, Bob Richards and Lloyd Rhodus.
The Poynter Family wish to thank the caring and competent staff of Hospice Care Plus, all of her loving caregivers: Maxine Patton, Iona Abbott, Shirley Dickerson, Audrena Kilby and Shirley Dickerson and two special friends: Holly Ray and Sarah Farthing.
