She was also a long time member of the National State Garden Clubs. Other memberships included the East Georgia Judges Council, the Sprig & Dig Garden Club and The Bulldog Club. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, Time Saver potato logs, traveling and spending time at the beach in her condo on Hilton Head Island. She was an avid animal lover who rescued Dobermans.
Lynn loved life. She was a creative spirit that challenged others to be their best. She had a thousand watt smile, infectious laugh and playful soul. She loved to entertain and was always looking for reasons to celebrate even small successes.
Besides her husband , her two greatest loves were her daughter and granddaughter Her creative energy, engaging personality and desire to make everyone’s lives that she touched a little better will live on through her girls.
Lewis Grizzard admired her stories, neighbors craved her sweet tea and deviled eggs and friends just wanted to be with her.
Family, faith and friends were her life. Entertaining was her passion. Floral design was her creative expression and Tuesdays were her favorite day to read the Statesboro Herald.
She is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Martin Newsome; and a nephew, Randy Edwards.
Visitation will be held on Saturday from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home in Statesboro.
The funeral will be Sunday at 4:00pm in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson with Rev. Jimmy Cason officiating.
Burial will follow at Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
