James E. MARSHALL Rites Set Today

OVALO - Funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the Ovalo Baptist Church for James Edward MARSHALL, 77, who died Thursday morning in Hendrick Memorial Hospital after a two years illness.

The Rev. George CAFFEY, pastor, and Dr. Albert LUNDAY of Abilene, Hardin - Simmons University faculty member and Baptist minister, will officiate.

Burial will be in McBee Cemetery under the direction of Fry Funeral Home of Tuscola.

Mr. MARSHALL was an Ovalo farmer and carpenter who later co-owned and managed a Lawn appliance dealership.

He was born Oct. 18, 1889 in Birmingham, Ala., son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James L. MARSHALL. He married Sudie Bell LANDERS at Ovala, Dec. 23, 1913. They moved to East Texas in1902, to Abilene in 1906 and to South Taylor County at Ovalo in 1909.

He was a member of the Ovalo Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Doyle REID of Abilene; two sons, Thurman of the home, co-owner in the Lawn appliance business, and Dale of Odessa; five grandchildren, including Mrs. Paulette FROST and Marsha Ann REID, both of Abilene; three sisters, Lillian HURD of Anson, Mrs. Bertha RODERICK of Merkel and Mrs. Jennie STROTHER of Lynwood, Calif.; and three brothers, R. J. MARSHALL of Ovalo, W. L. MARSHALL of Tuscola and Ray MARSHALL of Abilene.

Pallbearers will be Roy PEOPLES, John HARRISON, H. R. RIDDLE, Harold FORD, Gordon BOULTER and C. A. FOMBY.
