Dorothy Marie Nicks passed away November 9, 2017 in Eastland, Texas.

She was born in DeLeon, Texas to Nettie Mae Pittman and Neuman Guinn Short on October 30, 1925.
She attended Gorman Public School and graduated from there in 1942.
She worked for Southwestern Peanut Growers Association as an assistant auditor for 17 years. She was very active in her church and the Women’s Study Club.
Dorothy married Arthur Terrell Nicks in 1972 and moved to Irving, Texas and resided there until 1987 when they moved back to Eastland. She was a member of the First Christian Church.

Dorothy was a people’s person. She loved people and never met a stranger. She loved to fish and garden.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Love of Eastland and Sherry Jobe of Caddo Mills; one grandson, Kevin Love and wife Kara; 3 great granddaughters, Kailey, Kimber, and Kortney Love and 1 great grandson Kelly Love all of San Angelo; one niece Connie and husband Dwayne Snider of Stephenville, and a host of other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister, granddaughter, and nephew.
