Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Friday, November 3, 2017 at St. John the Baptist Church in Lostant with the Franciscan Friars officiating. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery in Lostant with full military rites conducted by the Lostant American Legion. Visitation will be 4-7:00 PM Thursday at Mueller Funeral Home in Lostant with recital of the Rosary at 3:45 PM. Additional visitation will be 9:30-10:00 AM Friday at the church.
Garry was born January 31, 1934 in Streator to William and Christine (Duller) Lenhausen. He lived in Lostant with his family and started farming at a young age.
Mr. Lenhausen was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Korea for most of his military career. He joined the service on March 14, 1956 and was honorably discharged on February 26, 1958 with the rank of SP3. He was awarded the marksmanship ribbon and good conduct medal while serving his country. On August 1, 1959,
Garry married Marjorie Migliorini. They raised four children together, Kimberly (Don) Stefaniak of Channahon, Gary (Sandi) Lenhausen of rural Lostant and Ron Lenhausen and Rich (Laura) Lenhausen both of Utica.
They have six grandchildren, Krista, Alexis, Laura, Kyle, Amy and Reid. Garry’s lifelong career and passion was farming, and during the off-season he enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, gardening and raising farm animals. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church in Lostant as well as the Marshall County Sportsman Club.
Survivors include his wife, children, grandchildren and two brothers, Robert Lenhausen of Lostant and twin brother, Jerry Lenhausen of Wenona.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Vernon and Farrell Lenhausen.
Pallbearers will be his sons, Gary, Ron and Rich Lenhausen; son-in-law, Don Stefaniak; grandson, Kyle Lenhausen and brother, Jerry Lenhausen. If desired, family and friends may make memorial contributions to Garry’s family or to the Illinois Veterans Home in LaSalle.
