Carrie Jean Ferguson, 88, of Mertens passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2013, at Trinity Mission Nursing Home in Italy.

Carrie Jean was born om July 24, 1925, in Irene, Texas, to Frank Cecil and Sally May (Thomas) Goodman.

On June 14, 1941, she married Warren Wood Ferguson in Hillsboro. She was a fabulous cook, avid genealogist, and enjoyed her garden and flowers.

A very faithful and active member of First Baptist Church in Mertens, Carrie Jean loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with all of her heart. She also loved her family and friends very much. She was a member of Fort Graham Chapter of the Daughter's of The American Revolution and Eastern Star.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband on June 22, 2010; daughter, Barbara Cockerham on January 1, 2006; and two sisters, Katherine and Lucy Frank.

Survivors include her son, Glenn W. Ferguson and wife, Linda, of Bryan; brother, Joe Goodman and wife, Betty, of Waco; four grandchildren, Jana Burch and husband, Jerry, of Stephenville, Greg Ferguson and wife, Lorie, of Bryan, Paul Cockerham and wife, Ronda, of Italy, and Russ Ferguson and wife, Tammy, of Mont Belvieu; 13 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral Service at 10am Monday, December 30, 2013, and burial on Monday, December 30, 2013, Richland Cemetery, Mertens, TX.
