Shirley Jo Ames was born Oct. 21, 1935, and continued on her journey from this life on March 21, 2009.
Shirley retired from AT&T after many years of service and was the first woman deskman in the early '70s.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Margaret Pass; her sister, Frankie Douglas; an infant son, Joe Mitchell; and her very dear friend, Peggy Sanford.
She is survived by a son, Trent Ames of Santa Fe, N.M.; a daughter, Marcy Ames Wallace of Amarillo; a grandson, Brandon Wallace and wife Lauren of New Caney; and a precious great-granddaughter, Alexis of New Caney.
