Walter Stanley Burr, lifetime resident of Centralia, passed away at home Sept. 3, 2017, with his partner, Ron Harris by his side. He was born July 25, 1935, in Centralia, the oldest of four to Stanley Owen and Irene Catherine (Overturf) Burr.

Walt graduated in 1953. He was a member of the Washington National Guard (54-62,) president of the 10-5 CB Club, member of the Loyal Order of Moose, owned a service station and was a television repairman around Lewis County.

Walt was preceded in death by his brothers, Ray and Ralph; sister-in-law, Birdie; and his children’s mother, Boots Morris.

He is survived by his children, Stanley (Paula) Burr, Janet (Doug) Harris, all of Belfair, Sandra (Sam) Sakura of Seattle and Micheal (Dawn) Burr of Jacksonville Fla.; sister, Darlene Tewault of Centralia; sister-in-law, Anita Burr Shelton; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Walt was cremated by Newell-Hoerling’s and placed with his father at Mountain View Cemetery.
