Richard F. Bloom, 90, of Findlay, passed away at 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 8, 2017, at Fox Run Manor, Findlay. He was born on March 2, 1927, to the late Milton D. and Lela Faye (Crider) Bloom. He married Kathryn E. Hartman on March 21, 1963, and she preceded him in death on September 27, 2008. Richard is also survived by his daughters: Deborah F. (Bob Hixson) Montooth of Findlay and Calista J. Grogan of Haskins; his son: Ray A. (Gail) Hecker of Findlay; his grandchildren: Joy, Andrew, McKenzie, Bryce, Carley and Ryan; a great-grandson, Bane. He was also preceded in death by his son, Steve Bloom; and his sister, Betty Jane Seaton. Richard was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served our country during World War II as a part of the CO. C 63rd BN 6th REGT R.T.C. of Fort Bragg, NC. He formerly had owned and operated the Findlay Hardware from 1956-1976. He later worked for San-A-Pure and Reiter Dairies for 12 years. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, where full military rites will be conducted by the Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad. Burial will be in Knollcrest Gardens, east of Findlay. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME.
