Services for Jose Alafa, Jr., 71, of Lubbock will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016, at Guajardo Funeral Chapels. Interment will be in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park under the direction of Guajardo Funeral Chapels. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today, Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2016, at Guajardo Funeral Chapels. Jose passed away peacefully on Dec. 12, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Nov. 29, 1945, in Garden City, Texas. He was a forklift operator in Catoosa, OK, and worked for Janitorial Services in Lubbock.
Survivors include three daughters and two sons. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Alafa, Sr. and Tibursia Flores; brothers, Arturo and Manuel Alafa; sister, Maria Valerio Macias; grandson, Courtney Sosa; and son, John Alafa.
