Jean is predeceased by her husband, Don Kneisler, her daughter Tricia Lovejoy and grandson Andres Dauvergne.
Jean and Don began their marriage and started raising their family in Olathe, Kansas. In the early 1960's they moved west to Fremont, California. With brief moves to Irvine, California and East Windsor, New Jersey they always called Fremont home.
Jean had a varied career which included driving a school bus for Fremont Unified School District and El Toro School District Unified, both in CA. She was a EMT and ambulance driver in New Jersey before returning to California where she was a St Rose Hospital ER Volunteer coordinator. Jean then worked for the City of Fremont Human Services as a Senior Outreach worker, counselor with Senior Peer Counseling Program, and helped develop Crossing the Bridge Program connecting teens to seniors. Jean was also on the County of Alameda Advisory Commission on Aging for many years.
For retirement Jean volunteered as a Furry Friends Feline Rescue Counselor and then co-founded Purrfect Cat Rescue in 2006. Hundreds of happy kittens, cats and families were created thanks to her dedication of finding the perfect match of felines and humans.
Jean is survived by her children, Don (Pete) Kneisler Jr. (Karen Kneisler), Leslie Kneisler Johnson and Tracie Kneisler Laiosa. Jean is Nana to her precious grandchildren, Dan Kneisler, Lori Kneisler Wood, Salvador Dauvergne, Dakota Cooley (Michelle Cooley), Cassidy Laiosa. Jean is surrounded in love from 5 great-grandchildren and is especially proud to have 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Jean inspired not only her children and grandchildren but the many people she met while volunteering to work hard and give back big.
Services will be at Niles Discovery Church, 36600 Niles Blvd, Fremont, CA 94536 on Wednesday, September 6 with viewing at 9:00 A.M and life celebration at 10:00 A.M., reception following in church hall. Private burial will be at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park in Fremont.
