Celebration of life for Billy (Bill Blastt) Douglas Brooks, Jr. will be 1:30 P.M. Saturday, August 26, 2017 in the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Raymond Doke, pastor of Weleetka Assembly of God, Weleetka, Oklahoma and Greg Doke, Tulsa, Oklahoma officiating.

Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

The family will greet friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday, August 25, 2017 at the funeral home, Billy’s 47th birthday.

In the early morning hours of Monday, August 21, 2017, Billy took his last breath at his family home, after battling congestive heart failure for the past two years.

Billy was born on August 25, 1970 to proud parents Billy D. Brooks, Sr. and Bettye J. (Brooks) Russell in Lawton. Billy attended school in Lawton at Douglass Learning Center and Eisenhower Junior and Senior High Schools. Billy worked as an auto glass technician with Gene Burk Auto Glass for many years after which Billy co-owned S & B Mobile Auto Glass with Samantha and Jerome Noll.

Billy will be remembered by his infectious laugh and being a fun loving guy. Billy loved Oklahoma Sooners football, fishing and fast cars. Billy had an amazing skill of entertaining all of the little kids in his life. Billy had a heart of gold and would drop everything he was doing to help anyone that was in need.

Billy was preceded in death by his father, Billy D. Brooks, Sr., maternal grandparents, David L. and Addie Maye (Manning) Sly, paternal grandparents, Travis and Lola Brooks, maternal great grandparents A.D. and Emma Sly and Arthur and Velma Manning, aunts Billie Jean Caldwell and Barbara Jane Rushing.

Survivors include his mother, Bettye J. Russell, of the home, brother, David P. Russell, sisters, Jackie (Russell) Whitaker (Allen), Jennifer French (Mike), Julia Doke (Greg) and Jennifer Brooks, step-mother, Pauline Brooks, nephews, Glendell Darren Coffman II, Austin Blake Terry, Devin Blaine Russell, Gavin Sean Cowett, Dylan Sly Russell, Adam Garrett Whitaker, Tyson Krystopher Cruise, nieces, Amber Brittany Overby, Jenny Ryan Whitaker, Cherokee Sage Parker, and Gracie Paige Doke, Uncle Mike Sly (Trudy), many cousins and friends, along with his cherished 1962 Nova and Z-car.
