Betty Butler Bruce Bullock
November 14, 1921 - May 6, 2016
Betty Bullock, age 94, died peacefully on May 6, 2016 in hospice care in Sun City surrounded by family. Our beloved "Ganny" is survived by her husband of nearly 70 years, Harold, children Rick, Doug, Bruce, Leslie and Mike, grandchildren Allyson, Kristin, Greg, Jessica, Jenny, Sarah, Matt, Melissa, Zach, Logan, Jake and great-grandchildren Kelsie and Elliot. Born in Whitley City, KY, she spent her early life in Stearns, KY., received a bachelor's degree in physical education from Nazareth College before becoming a stewardess for American Airlines where she met her pilot "Huck", the love of her life, and married him in 1946. She devoted the next seven decades to him and raising a family, living in such exotic locales as Hawaii and Japan as an Air Force wife as well as Washington, Florida, and Texas before moving to Arizona in 1993. Granny was beautiful, funny, tender, loving, an avid reader, a maker of amazing chocolate cookies, and she loved scratch-off lottery tickets. She is adored and loved by her entire family and an inspiration to us all. She will live in our hearts always. Services are scheduled for Wednesday May 18th at 10am at Congregational Church of Sun City, 18401 N. 99th Avenue, Sun City, AZ. 85373 followed by interment in the church columbarium. Rev. Dr. Brian Anderson will preside. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to Guiding Eyes for the Blind at www.guidingeyes.org.
