Kenneth Paul "K.P." Mitchell, 93, of McLeansboro, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2017, at the residence of his son in Brandon, Fla.
Visitation will be held 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4, 2017, at Blooming Grove Baptist Church in McLeansboro.
Funeral will be held 12 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4, at Blooming Grove Baptist Church in McLeansboro. Graveside military rites will be accorded by American Legion Post 106 and Military Honor Team of Marion. The Rev. Tony Auxier will officiate. Burial will be at Blooming Grove Cemetery in McLeansboro.
He was born June 12, 1924, in McLeansboro, the son of Earl Kenneth Mitchell and Reatha Lora (Trotter) Mitchell. He married Ella Pearl (Pearce) Mitchell on June 24, 1950, in Mt. Vernon.
He was a Farm Credit Coordinator in McLeansboro. He was employed by the USDA and FMHA. He was a member of Blooming Grove Baptist Church in McLeansboro and served in U.S. Navy CB's SK 2C during WWII. He was a member of the VFW Post 167 of McLeansboro.
He is survived by hiw wife, Ella Pearl Mitchell of McLeansboro; son, John Mitchell and wife Shirley of Brandon, Fla.; daughters, Connie Deen and husband Roger of Broughton, Paula Mitchell of McLeansboro and Kendra Millenbine and husband Larry "Spud" of Morrisville; brother, Dr. Donald Mitchell and wife Judy of McLeansboro; grandchildren, Michelle York, Daniel Deen, Scott Craddock (Tina), Angela McMahon (Shad), Pamela Merchant, Kenneth Elliott (Diana), Alan Curtis Elliott, Chelsie Turlich, Ashley Mitchell, Dustin Mitchell (Maribel), Lindsey Cannon (Rodney), Bonnie Nitz (James), Taylor Caum (Gemini) and Kaitlynde Caum; great-grandchildren, Justin and Jaden York, Jacob Deen, Garrett Craddock, Cole and Shayla McMahon, McKenzie Craddock and Trinity Merchant, Caden and Finnley Elliott, Alexandra Hernandez, Manuel Velasco, Marley and Jett Mitchell, Charlotte, Ceaton, Caroline, Cadia and Cera Cannon and Felix Nitz; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
