Charles Paul Post, Jr. went home to the Lord on Tuesday, November 30, 2021.

Mr. Post was born in Johnstown, PA, the eldest son of Charles Paul Post, Sr. and Elizabeth Mary Schillinger Post.

He served his country for 29 years as a member of the South Carolina Air National Guard at Myrtle Beach AFB, and McEntire National Guard Base near Eastover.

Charles was a lifetime bowler and received recognition and awards for his many accomplishments, including the greatly desired trophy for bowling perfect 300 games.

As a young boy in Pennsylvania, he learned the art of hard work on the family farm. After his parents relocated to South Carolina, he was employed with the Horseman Dolls plant in Lexington County, SC until the plant closed in the late 1970's. At that time, he entered the furniture business, first with Rosewood Furniture Company on Rosewood Drive in Columbia; then at Rosewood East, Inc. on Sumter Hwy and later at Colony House Furniture on Garners Ferry Road.

Mr. Post served as a faithful deacon of Edwards Memorial Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in Cayce. It was there that he and his first wife, Barbara, worked with the young people of the church teaching Sunday School and organizing a Youth Group.

In 1981, he and his wife, Marcia Hayes Post married and became members of St. Andrews Baptist Church in the Dutch Square area of Columbia.

Also surviving are brothers Edwin Post and David Post and sisters Carol Post Deese, and Mary Elizabeth Post Varnadore. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, Marcia, his brother Robert Post and a sister, Dorothy Post.

A dedicated hardworking son, husband, father, grandfather and friend he will always be remembered as being talented, gentle and kind.

A private, family gathering and graveside service is being planned for Sunday, December 5th with burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park.

The family would like to thank the staff of Harbison Shores Senior Living Facility for the care provided to their loved one during the final years of his life; and, to the staff of Greenlawn Memorial Park for their assistance in the memorial arrangements.

Memorials may be made to St. Andrews Baptist Church.
