Emma Jeannette Broughton - 95, of Westchester/Truro, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2017, at Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro. Born in Malagash, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Elida (Miller) Wilson. Emma was a devoted wife and mother and caregiver to: her brother-in-law, William (Bill) Broughton during his illness; her mother-in-law, Bessie; her sister-in-law, Vera (Dixon) and her parents. Emma enjoyed quilting, sewing, knitting, crocheting, cooking, dancing and bowling.

She is survived by her sister, Mavis Newcombe; daughters, Bessie (Lawson) Thompson, Westchester; Avis (Wesley) Austin, BC; sons, Hubert (Annie), Truro; Philip (Cheryl), Westchester; nephew, Brian (Karen) Broughton, Moncton; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Oran; sister, Dorothy and brother-in-law, William (Bill); brother, Donald; sister-in-law, Dorothy (Grant) Wilson; brother-in-law, Leigh Newcombe; nephew, Kenneth Broughton.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. No visitation by family request. A family graveside service will be held in Eagle Hill Cemetery, Westchester Station, NS.
