The daughter of the late Charles and Virginia Wing, Anne was born and raised in Marks. She was a 1961 honor graduate of Marks High School and graduated from Mississippi College with a major in English and a double minor in Spanish and French. Upon graduation she accepted a position to teach English and Spanish at DeLaura Junior High School in Satellite Beach, FL, where she taught for more than 35 years.
Anne married Robert Peyton Kinder in 1965, and they were together until his death in 1998. She was a pillar of the community and won numerous teaching awards, eventually becoming head of her department at DeLaura. Her love for teaching continued after she retired, and she tutored a number of students each week and was a substitute teacher.
Anne touched many lives as a teacher, friend, and mother, and she will be sorely missed. In addition to many friends, she leaves a son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Rhonda Kinder and three grandchildren, Holly, Kevin and Kelli Kinder, all of Atlanta, GA; a daughter, Kristen Kinder of League City, TX; brothers Charles Wing of Portland, OR, and Kenny Wing of Madison; and sisters, Virginia Wing of New York City and Sandra Wing deVidal of Dripping Springs, TX. She was preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Wing of Marks.
A memorial service was held in Melbourne July 28. Funeral services were held at Marks First Baptist Church July 30, with burial in Marks Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston or to the American Cancer Society.
