FLOY & BUSTER had 1 CHILD from their marriage.
~ "David Allen Bishop".

DAVID was a handsome, blonde, blue-eyed boy. At age 4, the doctors told Floy that David was & would be mentally handicapped. He looked perfectly normal. As he grew & progressed, he could read some, write some, follow a road map, ride a bicycle, take a list & money down-the-street to a neighborhood store & bring back a small sack of groceries, feed & water the birds & cats & dogs, & even mow the grass. But, David couldn't dress fully or brush his teeth or shave w/out help. When Buster was alive, he was wonderful w/David's care. When Buster died in 1976, it left Floy alone to deal-with David's shortcomings & care. She did this admirably for 23 years after Buster died. She took David to MHMR in San Angelo for many years for therapy & training.

FLOY was a LVN at The Clinic Hospital in San Angelo for 30 years until her retirement.

While Buster was a Mason, Floy was an Eastern Star for 50+ years. She was also a 53-year member of The First Baptist Church; she joined in 1946.

Floy was a Huge George Strait fan! One night, when she was a mere 85, she was stopped for "really" speeding down a major street in San Angelo! The cop asked her what was her big hurry. Her reply w/a huge smile & glint in her eye, "Oh! Officer, I have to hurry home 'cause George Strait is gonna be on tv really soon!" He laughed-out-loud, patted her hand, verbally warned her, & let her speed-off to catch George on tv!

August 7, 1999 was a truly sad night when FLOY ALLEN BISHOP died! She & David had gone by car across a really big & busy street about 3 blocks from their home to a grocery store which had a deli. It was about 9 p.m when they returned to their car which would not start. She decided that they would walk home since it was so close. She handed David their deli sack & her purse. She told him to run across the big & busy street & wait for her. When she was crossing the street, a woman in a car was looking at David on the curb & not at Floy crossing the street & hit & killed Floy! David watched & seemed to know what this was. It was death.

Floy had a niece who was a teacher in Los Ranchos, NM. Her name was Jennifer Cvetic. She & her husand promised to care-for David whenever Floy died. Following Floy's funeral, Jenny took David home to live with her family.

FLOY was a pretty, loving, sweet, generous, bright, patient, fun-loving lady who loved her parents, her in-laws, her siblings, her husband, her son, her friends, her neighbors, All needy Animals & Birds, & George Strait!

It was an everyday occurrence for wild birds to fly to her out-stretched hand for food. They instinctively knew she was made of love & kindness!

It was our privilege to call her "dearest friend & neighbor" for 24 years.
