Jessie Adams of Marks, 81, died Saturday, June 14, 2003, at Northwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in Clarksdale.

Services were Saturday, June 21, at 11:00 a.m. at Shady Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Jones, pastor, and Rev. F. C. Kelson, Jr. officiating. Burial was in Shady Grove Cemetery.

Ms. Adams was born in Tunica, to Bro. Mays and Sis. Maybell Franklin who preceded her in death. She was a member of Valley Queen M. B. Church for many years and served on the Usher and Treasurer Board of the church. Later she joined Shady Grove M. B. Church where she served on the Usher Board until her health failed.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Robert Adams; one son, Wesley Funches (Dorothy) of Cleveland, OH; one daughter, Lillian Fay Christian of Marks; one aunt, Ms. Olivia Crawford of Lambert; four grandchildren, Melanie Thompson, Wesley D. Funches (Cindy), Anita Howard (Shaun), and Russell Funches; nine great-grandchildren, all of Cleveland, OH; one brother and sister-in-law, Willie C. Adams and Betty of Los Angeles, CA; one uncle, Henry Cannon of Los Angeles, CA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and one special friend, Ms. Cora Diggs of Marks.

The Adams and Funches family thanks you for your love, concern, and kindness with prayers, visits, calls, cards, flowers, and other expressions of thoughtfulness during the illness and passing of their beloved Sis. Jessie M. Adams. Thank you and God bless you.
