WALTERS, Okla. - Larry Milwood, 87, of Walters died Monday, Feb. 12, 2007, in Lawton, Okla.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, Walters, with the Rev. Marcia Hagee officiating. Burial will be in Walters Cemetery under the direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Dora of the home; daughter, Sharon of Fairfax, Calif.; two sons, Paul Milwood of Whitehouse, Texas, and Jack Harriman of Odessa, Ukraine; a sister, Dorothy Tinsley of Woodruff, S.C.; and six grandchildren.

WALTERS -- Funeral for Larry Milwood, 87, Walters, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church, Walters, with the Rev. Marcia Hagee officiating.

Mr. Milwood died Monday, Feb. 12, 2007 in Lawton.

Burial will be in Walters Cemetery under direction of Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters.

He was born May 11, 1919. at Spartanburg, S.C., to Robert and Lillie Henderson Millwood. He grew up at Spartanburg and served in the U.S. Army honorably for eight years. He was a World War II veteran and served in the Pacific Theatre Campaign in New Guinea and the liberation of the Philippines. He was a artilleryman and a marksman. He was stationed at Fort Sill during the early 1940's. He married Dorothy Thorne Nov. 27, 1943 at Lawton. She died in 1962. Through the years he held many jobs mostly associated with the oilfield, sales or maintenance, living mainly in Oklahoma and Texas. He married Dora Allen on Nov. 23, 1996 at Walters, where they have made their home. He attended First United Methodist Church in Walters.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Larry Dickinson, Fairfax, Calif.; two sons and a daughters-in-law; Paul and Deborah Milwood, Whitehouse, Texas; and Jack Harriman, Odessa, Ukraine; a sister, Dorothy Tinsley, Woodruff, S.C.; six grandchildren: Stewart Harriman, Utah; Danielle Hall, Tennessee; Julie Kahn, Fairfax, Calif.; Zach Milwood, Flower Mound, Texas; Laura Strain, Fort Worth, Texas; and Lindsey Sweat, Whitehouse; other relatives; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Elaine Milwood; three brothers: Oscar, Paul and James Millwood; and three sisters: Thelma, Lois and Fannie Mae.

Memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Missions, or the Walters Cemetery Association.
