Philip Walter, 85, died Sunday, February 25, 1968, at Mary Lanning Hospital in Hastings. He farmed many years in Fillmore County before retiring. He had been making his home in Hastings for several years with a daughter, Miss Valeria Walter.

Other survivors are another daughter, Mrs. Lawrence Cronin, of Lincoln, three brothers, John and Louis of Geneva and Jake of Grafton, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Schmitt of Lincoln and Mrs. Frank Jung of Wisconsin, five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Geneva. Rev. Paul Ulenberg officiated. The Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Kritner-Farmer Funeral Home in Geneva. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery near Shickley.
