Beryl Louise Bailey of Levittown, Pa. went to be with her Lord on Saturday, April 8, 2017. She was 92.

She was born in Avalon, Pa., a suburb of Pittsburgh, to the late Earl F. Hyde and Mary Moorehead. She was married to Earl E. Bailey for 53 years until his death in 1995.

Beryl was one of the very few original Levittowners left, having moved there with her family in October 1952.

Beryl was the mother of three girls and she was truly a hands-on mom. She was a room mother, scout leader, cafeteria lunch lady at John Fitch School, and camp counselor. As a lifeguard at Brook Park Pool for many years, she developed the round robin stations which taught hundreds of Levittown children to swim.

An avid reader and music fan, she loved to cook and sew clothes for her daughters and their dolls.

From its beginning, she was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Levittown and had a close bond with her church family, especially Colleen Moore, who was like a daughter to her. Beryl dearly missed her sister, Jo Ann Webb, and her sister-in-law Mary Linton, who preceded her in death.

Family meant everything to her and she was happiest when they were gathered together. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed a party.

Beryl is survived by her daughters, Vicky Burke (Robert) of Studio City, Calif., Karen Jo Keifer of Fairless Hills, Pa., and Janice Ordog (Paul) of Roebling, N.J.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, Michael Keifer (Maureen) and son, Shane, Michelle Keifer, Christian Prynoski (Shannon) and son, Conan, Ethan Ordog, and Kathi McLaughlin (Greg) and daughters, Macy and Lexi; a brother, Bruce Hyde (Dot) of Lake Wales, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life (date to be determined) will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Levittown with the Rev. Dr. Kari Turner McClellan officiating. Interment will be a private service at Jersey Shore Cemetery, Pa., where she will join her husband, Earl.
