Flo Ansley Hill passed away at the Buckner Villa Retirement Center in Austin on Sunday November 23 2008 at the age of 102 years 6 months. She was born on May 7 1906 in Murphy (Collin County) Texas to the late Edward and Addie Cole Ansley. She married Jimmie O. Hill on October 16 1924 in Tyler. She is survived by a Sister Edward A. Thompson of Kenbridge VA. by a son and Daughter-in-law Jimmie O. and Billie Hill Jr. of Plano two daughters and sons-in-law Dorothy Lynn and John Burks of Austin and Martha Ann and Jerry Johnson of Bullard seven grandchildren 17 great-grandchildren 4 great-great-grandchildren and numerous Nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years Jimmie Oliver Hill a son Manley Edward Hill and two grandsons Jimmy Joe Hill and John Hill. Mrs. Hill was raised in Brownsboro moved to Smackover Ark lived in Tyler for 75 years and subsequent to the death of her husband in 1989 she relocated to Austin in 1994 to be near members of her immediate family. In addition to the duties of a full time homemaker she assisted her husband in the operation of their grocery and hardware businesses which served Tylers northwest community for 21 years from 1931 until 1952. Flo was a lifelong Christian and member of Queen Street Baptist and Green Acres Baptist Churches in Tyler. She also was a member of Hyde Park Baptist Church in Austin. Graveside services for Flo Hill will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday November 25 2008 at Tyler Memorial Cemetery Tyler with Rev. Sherman Mayfield officiating under direction of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Directors Tyler.
