La Jollan Found Dead of Car Gas.
The body of John Carl Aarsleff, 53, who apparently ended his life Sunday, was found yesterday in the garage of his home, 5158 Cass St. La Jolla, the coroner's office reported. Death was caused by carbon monoxide gas from the exhaust pipe of Aarsleff's car Gershon said. Mrs. Aarsleff, the man's wife, told Gershon that she and her husband quarreled Sunday and that later she heard him start the car in the garage and presumed he had driven away. The body is at Johnson-Saum mortuary. No inquest will be held. Aarsleff formerly engaged in the garage business here.
The photo attached was found March 2017 in an antique store in Bullhead City, AZ. The only writing on back of photo was: John Aarsleff, mother's friend for awhile.
He is standing by his Willys Knight car, model 70-A Coupe with California plates, year is 1927. The "hood ornament" is actually a radiator cap.
He petitioned 19 Dec 1911 to become a citizen of the United States. On 19 Jul 1912 he was admitted to citizenship of the United States and became a naturalized citizen.
