Died at the old homestead, on Monday evening, July 27, Mrs. John Holobaugh, aged 79 years, 11 mos., 28 days. The funeral services were held at her home now occupied by David Shutters, Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Rev. I.K. Wismer of DuBois Lutheran Church in charge. C.L. Avery Director, interment in Hollobaugh cemetery. Mary Hollobaugh was the mother of 10 children, Elias, Daniel, Margaret Pontius, Catherine Keller, Peter, David, Christiana Shutters, Rachel Richards, Eliza Disler, and John. The latter two are dead.
NOTE: from all her children's PA DC (where they had one) and found:
(1) maiden name Zimmerman from son Jeremiah's & son Abraham's PA DC;
(2) maiden name Smith from daughter Catharine's & Christiana's & Rachel's & son David's PA DC
In addition I found a family record that stated "Here is the info from the Hollobaugh Reunion:
The Jeremiah Hollobough (Hollobaugh) Family
Jeremiah (Old Jerry as they called him) Hollobough, of whom we assembled here today are descendants was the son of one John Hollobough and Mary Zimmerman. So far as I can gather they lived on a farm in the vicinity of Dayton, PA. Jerry married one Rachel Ellen Brannan who bore him 12 children."
So until parents can be documented of this Mary, she could be Zimmerman or Smith, unless there were 2 Mary's who were married to husband John, father of the children.
