Benjamin Franklin Hood, 57, died Sunday at Vencor Hospital.
He was born on January 23, 1941 to the late Benjamin Charles "Dugger" Hood and the late Imarie Potts Hood in Blairsville, Georgia.
Benjamin was a retired Army sergeant first class, a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars and a member of Moose Lodge.
Survivors include his finance Ann Duke; brother Charles C. Hood of Flint, Michigan; three sisters Peggy Jo Overcash of Loganville, Georgia; Sue Mason of Fairfield, Ohio; and Shirley Ann Kellam of Palmeda, Georgia.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Gabriele VonHake Hood.
Visitation will be Monday, August 3 from 11 A.M.-2 P. M. and 4-9 P. M. The funeral is Tuesday, August 4 at 11A.M. at W. G. Hardy Valley Funeral home and burial will be at Bethany Memorial Cemetery.


NOTE: Benjamin also had an older half brother Garr Hood of Detroit, Michigan and an older half sister Juanita Martin of Fulton, Mississippi. These siblings were from two previous marriages of his father "Dugger" Hood.
