Joyce Gail Wall Adams, wife of the late Roy R. Adams, passed away February 21, 2017 at her home in Smithville, Texas. She was 76 years old. She was born in Corpus Christi, Texas October 4, 1940. She grew up in Houston but made her home in Smithville for most of her adult life.

After most of her children were grown Joyce became a nurse then spent many years caring for the elderly. She shared most of her working career with fellow nurse and best friend Joyce Call.

Joyce loved all things furry and was a huge animal advocate! She rescued and loved all types from dogs to possums and everything in between! She leaves behind one very spoiled cat named Scooter who will stay with Kip.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband Roy Adams; son James Bridges of Paige; grandson Adam Gonzales of Smithville; sister Shirley Dumesnil of Spurger; brother John Wall of Beaumont; father Thomas Woodrow Wall of Houston; mother Kathleen McKee and her step-father Otis McKee both of Brownwood.

Her children include Dawn Gonzales of Round Rock; daughter Cheryl Kier of Smithville; Rosemary Galpin of Luling; James Bridges (D) of Paige; Joseph Bridges of Arizona; Karen Toledo of Spurger; Roy (Bobby) Adams and Douglas (Kip) Adams both of Smithville.

She was blessed with twenty (20) grandchildren and thirteen (13) great-grandchildren. Joyce had many nieces and nephews, three of which were like children to her, Shirley (Missy) Keenum of Cleveland; Cleo Jeffcoat of Spurger and Herbert (Booger) Dumesnil of Humble.
