Laguna Woods Charles J. "Ed" Maudlin, (82) beloved father, grandfather, uncle and friend, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at his residence in Laguna Woods, CA. He was the son of Eleanor and Gilbert Maudlin, born September 11, 1934 in San Diego, CA. Charles attended Saint Augustine High School and was a resident of San Diego until the last year of his life. Charles married Andrea Hartman in 1974, and married until her passing in 2007. Charles, was a longtime employee of Solar Turbines and a proud, devoted member of the IAMAW Union. He loved family, fine dining and any four-legged animal. He is survived by his children Pamela & John Noenickx, of Laguna Hills; Lawrence and Jacki Maudlin of Ventura; grandchildren John & Alexis Noenickx, Matthew Noenickx, Brock & Kate Maudlin and Derrick Maudlin; great-grandchildren Kai and Alana Maudlin; and lifetime friend Gerald "Pat" Ferguson. As well as many brothers/sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Charles was a loving, caring, giving man who was loved by all. He will be missed by all whom he touched. A private ceremony will be held in San Diego where his ashes will be scattered at sea, so he may join his beloved Andrea. Celebration of life to be scheduled. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Guide Dogs of America, 13445 Glenoaks Blvd., Sylmar, CA 91342.
