Rhonda Ashley, 58, went to be with her Heavenly Father on October 24, 2016. She was a graduate of Oxford High School, class of 1976. Rhonda was a Certified Occupational Therapist having received her B.A. and B.S. degrees with Presidential Honors from the University of Alabama Birmingham. She worked in many places during her career. Rhonda fought diabetes for most of her life. She was a very loving person and loved her family with all of her heart. She is survived by her husband, Mike Saumure; mother, Maxine Ashley; sister, Melanie Cave; brother, Gary Ashley; nephew, Dewitt Ashley; nieces, Autumn Ashley, Savanna Simpson and Skylan Fisher. She was preceded in death by her father, William "Red" Ashley. Rhonda was a member of Cornerstone Church. A celebration of life will be on Saturday, October 29, 2016, 3 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church on McIntosh Road with the Rev. Scott Smith officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 2 - 3 p.m. at the church.
