ATTIX, DR. C. SHELDON "Jooge", 76, died February 25, 2002 at home with his family by his side. Born in San Fernando, CA, Jooge graduated from Van Nuys High School in the class of '43, where he was a three-time All American football player. Upon graduation he joined the Navy V-12 Program, traveling first to University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, MN, continuing to play football, then to Midshipmen School at Fort Schuyler, NY. He proudly served on the USS Mitchell and USS Tomahawk in the Pacific during WWII. Jooge earned his DDS at the University of Southern California in 1951. In 1959 he moved his dental practice to Cardiff-by-the-Sea. Jooge loved the ocean and the beach at Cardiff. He was a Charter Member of the Cardiff Chamber of Commerce and is a Lifetime Member of the Elks Lodge, Encinitas. A cherished and loyal friend to many - One lifetime was hardly sufficient for this extraordinarily generous man. He is survived by his loving wife, Cecelia, and sister, Vivian Newman. He is also survived by five children; Thomas Attix, Charles Attix, Elizabeth Attix-Moseley, Judith Attix-Swanson and Patricia Attix-Steensma and three step-children, Charles Massey, Melissa Webber and John Massey, whom he embraced as his own. He is blessed with many nieces and nephews, 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A wonderful husband and father - a true friend - patriot - historian and storyteller - we love you! Funeral Services will be held on Saturday March 2, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. St. Andrew's Episcopal Church 13601 Saratoga Avenue, Saratoga. Arrangements were made through Lima Family Mortuary, (408) 736-3491.
