Services for Mrs. Lorraine D. Benefield were at 4pm Friday December 20, 2002 at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel. Rev. Don McCormick officiated, assisted by Rev. David McCormick, pastor of Heritage Baptist Church. The family received friends at Hill Crest from 4-8pm Thursday December 19, 2002. Interment was at Hill Crest Memorial Park.
Mrs. Benefield was born December 20, 1920 in Niles, California to parents Alvin D. and Elsie (Devans) Hadsel, and passed away on Dec. 18, 2002 in Bossier City after a lengthy illness. She had lived in Bossier City for the past fifteen years, and was a member of the Heritage Baptist Church.
Mrs. Benefield (was) survived by her husband of 59 years, Buster Lynn Benefield of Bossier City; son, Dr. Robert Benefield and wife Tanya of Elm Grove; daughters Susan Logan and husband Steve of Houston; Tracy McFall of Bossier City.
Nine grandchildren: Chris Thornton, Stephanie Logan, Matthew Bordelon, Destiny McFall, Haylie, Demi, and Macy Morrison, Abby and Quintin Benefield. Four great-grandchildren, three sisters, and one brother also survive, along with a number of other relatives.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to the employees of Guest House of Bossier City, Odyssey Hospice Care, and members of the Heritage Baptist Church.
