daughter of William Haney b. 1796, South Carolina, married Evan Howell 8 Dec 1859 in Gwinnett County. She was 15 years old and Evan was 70 years old. The 1860 census confirms that they were married "within the year." After Evan's death in 1868, Mary Howell and five of Evan's children sued one of Evan's sons claiming that he had undue influence over his father when Evan gave him property. Plantiffs lost that case. Mary Kissiah Howell gave birth to a son, William Howell, in 1873. William died in 1922 and his death certificate gives his mother's name as Mary Latham and his father's name as E P Howell. On 12 Jun 1880, Mary Howell married Abraham Perry Latham. They had one son, James Cliff Latham. Mary, Abraham, and Cliff were buried here in Warsaw. Evan Howell was buried in Duluth Cemetery (Old Methodist Cemetery). William Howell's burial site is unknown.
