Robert Odell Pomroy, Jr., 66, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 17th, 2016 in Odessa, Texas. He was born February 22nd, 1950 in Monahans, Texas to R.O. Pomroy, Sr. and Augusta Ueckert Pomroy.

He graduated from Monahans High School in 1968 and from Texas A&M University in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Education. He married the love of his life Deborah Rice on January 8th, 1972 in Monahans, TX.

Robert started his professional career working for Ingersoll Rand, which lead to his first small business, Air Machinery. In 1984, he started Roper Equipment Rental, where he developed many meaningful business relationships.

His legacy will be carried on through family. Robert was a true outdoorsman, from his younger years of being in Boy Scouts, to playing football and baseball in high school, to his real passion of hunting and fishing. If he was not watching the Texas Rangers or cooking for family and friends, his wife, Debbie and he were traveling. Robert was a heart transplant recipient, which extended his life with family and friends another thirteen years. Some of their most memorable trips included going to the World Series twice to watch the Texas Rangers, where they won the games they went to see; several Alaskan cruises; annual summer coastal trips for four to five months at a time; and, the one trip most remembered, is when they traveled to Africa. Robert also took pride in his herd of Alpacas, his prize winning pecan orchard, and belonging to the Chuckwagon Gang.

Robert is survived by his wife, three daughters, three sisters, numerous nephews and nieces, and, many other family members. Preceding him in death were his parents R.O. and Augusta Pomroy.

Funeral services December 21st at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Odessa, TX. Burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens on Highway 80 in Odessa, TX.
