Jimmy (James) Austin, born to Dudley and Sallie Austin in Cottage Grove, Tennessee, passed away on November 21, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.
Jimmy practiced dentistry in Corpus Christi, Texas for 55 years. He served as president of the Nueces Valley Dental Society from 1970 to 1971.
Jimmy was a veteran of both World War II and the Korean War.
He was a devout member of the Church of Christ, and served as a deacon at the Ayers St. congregation in Corpus Christi and as an elder at the Weber Rd. congregation, also in Corpus Christi.
Jimmy was also an avid golfer.
Jimmy met his first wife of 60 years, Judy Austin, at Abilene Christian College where both sang in the a-cappella chorus. Together, Jimmy and Judy reared their three children, Miriam, Alan, and Ray to love and obey our loving Lord and Savior.
Jimmy was a selfless and loving father who always put his children first. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Natalie & Amy Jones and Hunter & Hayden Austin; nephews, Dudley & Leslie Austin. He is also survived by his second wife, Iris (Johnson) Austin whom he married in 2011.
