Kenneth Paul Creech was born to Barney and Eunice Creech on February 9,1937 in the piney woods of E. Texas. Paul slipped the surly bonds of earth to touch the face of God on November 14, 2016.
He is survived by:

Daughter: Pamela Tomme and husband Brian
Step Daughter: Amy Krizan and husband Jody
Step Son: Jesse Simmons and wife Erin
8 Grandchildren: Amanda Shearin, Kenneth Creech III, Aaron Creech, Sarahann Creech, Ashton Carbo, Brandon Tomme, Haleigh Simmons and Hannah Cabrera.
7 Great grandchildren: Javen Shearin, Jayda Shearin, Sophia Creech, Daniel Creech, Kevin Carbo III, Marleigh Solis, and Levi Solis.
Numerous nieces, nephews and countless friends.
Graduated from Colmesneil High School. Where he was an Eagle Scout & also enjoyed the band & football.
He was accepted to the Texas Department of Public Safety in 1959 as a State Trooper serving 10 years in the Highway Patrol & Driver License divisions.
In 1969 he promoted to his dream job of pilot in the newly formed aviation division of DPS where he served another 30 years before retiring in 1998.
He worked as a news helicopter pilot for channel 4 news for 8 years. He enjoyed flying in his own aircraft & shared with many friends and family his love of flying.
He was very active in the Son’s of Confederate Veterans, proudly enjoying re-inacting & the fellowship of others who had family or was interested in the Civil War.
His love of metal detecting was known far & wide both in the law enforcement community as well as for hobby use. He was a dealer for Garrett Metal Detectors for 40 years.
He was also instrumental in starting the Eastfork Treasure Hunters Association over 10 years ago that is still going strong.
After his retirement in 1998 he authored the book, “Eagle With a Badge” with his co-author and friend, Jack Lawler. It has been sold all over the world. In 2014, he presented President George W. Bush, in person, a copy of his book “Eagle With A Badge” for his SMU library.
His love for his family and friends was the center of his life and he looked for every precious moment he could share with any and all of them.
