Roy Clifton Pounders, 82, passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
He was born July 1, 1934, to Fred and Myrtle Britton Pounders.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was retired from Brown Shoe Company.
He enjoyed music and yard work.
A Celebration of Life will be at 4:00 P.M. Friday, November 4, 2016, at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Ben Johnson Officiating and Gary Calley Delivering the Eulogy.
Burial will be in Zion Rest Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Nix Pounders; two sons, Mitchell (Jeanice) Pounders and Tony (Angie) Pounders; seven grandchildren, Jonathan (Leslie) Pounders, Beth (Joey) Hughes, Steven Pounders, Kelsey Pounders, Lauren Pounders, Jennifer (Troy) Williams and Jessica (Justin) Taylor; nine great-grandchildren; and his mother-in-law, Susie Nix.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 10 sisters and brothers; and one grandchild, Guy Spain.
Visitation will be Friday from 2:00 P.M. until Service Time at the Funeral Home.
