Answers Last Roll Call

After an illness with heart trouble of several weeks duration, Conrad J. Woodcox of this place passed away at the home of his daughter at Lagrange, Ind., Sunday, March 8th, 1914, at the age of 75 years. He was born near Delaware Bend, Defiance Co, O., in 1839. March 18, 1862, he was married to Lucinda Donat who preceded him to the great beyond about five years ago.

The remains were brought here Monday evening, and on Wednesday afternoon, funeral services were held from the M. E. church, Rev. Mitchell officiating, in charge of the G. A. R. Post of this place. Interment was given in the new cemetery.

"Coon" as he was familiarly known here, has been a resident of this section about 50 years, and is survived by three sons, four daughters, and several grandchildren, besides a wide circle of relatives and friends, all of whom mourn his death. He was a warm friend of the BEE-Argus, and has been a patron ever since the editors established same in 1833 and 1895, and it is with deepest sorrow that we are called upon to chronicle his passing away.
In the service of Uncle Sam, during the Civil strife in the Sixties, he was a faithful member of Co. E, 14th O.V.I., and served about 3 years, having enlisted at Defiance. This paper extends sympathy, joined by the entire community, to the bereaved family.
