Frances E. Pretzel Carroll 63, of Cumberland, MD died Sunday July 6, 1997 at the Cumberland Memorial Hospital.
She was born April 2, 1934 in Eglon the daughter of the late Emil Charles Pretzel and Hilda Edith Blamble Pretzel. She was also preceded by a brother Earl Leroy Pretzel.
She was a graduate of Aurora High School and Catherman's Business School in Cumberland, MD. She was an employee of Cumberland Cloak and Suite Company for many years. She was a member of the Cresaptown United Methodist Church where she belonged to the Scripture Gleaners Sunday School Class and handbell choir. She is survived by her husband, Donald E. Carroll and four children: Anita Pullin and husband Donald Pullin Jr. of Cumberland, Kenny Carroll and wife Terri of LaVale, Denise Judson and husband Duane of Margate FL, Brian Carroll and wife Amy of Cumberland, three brothers, Robert Pretzel, David Pretzel, and William (Chuck) Pretzel all of Bruceton Mills, 5 sisters, Helen Williams of Pasadena, Osalee Weslow of LaVale, Arlene Northcraft of Cumberland, Darlene Nine and Sheila Seese both of Bruceton Mills; four grandchildren: Christopher and Steven Pullin, Bridget Judson and Sidney Carroll and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral was held at Cresaptown United Methodist Church on Thursday, July 10, 1997 with Rev. Harold R. McClary, Jr. officiating. Interment was at Sunset Memorial Park in Cumberland, MD. Pallbearers were her nephews: Michael and Darren Weslow, Shawn and Greg Seese, Brent and Aaron Northcraft, Jason Pretzel and Kevin Carroll.
