MARIETTA -- Services for Irene Bell, 88, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Eastside Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Gardner officiating. Interment will be at Hewitt Cemetery in Wilson.
Mrs. Bell was born Jan. 11, 1912, at Post Oak, to Thomas and Ethel Moore Wilson. She died March 13, 2000, in rural Marietta.
She moved to Love County 11 years ago from the Kingston-Buncombe Creek area and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. She was a homemaker. She and Ivon I. Bell Jr. were married Sept. 10, 1932, in Lawton. She was preceded in death by her husband on Sept. 13, 1997; a son, Bill, in 1977; a daughter, Shirley Jean Bell in 1938; and four brothers.
Survivors include a daughter, Sue Curry, Marietta; three brothers, Carl Wilson, Wilson, Cecil Wilson, Yukon, and Dale Wilson, Hobbs, N.M.; a sister, Juanita Mitchell, Turlock, Calif.; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
