(special thanks to Teryble for the following info) I am the GG Granddaughter of James S. Davis. His son, Elias, was my Great Grandfather. He married Mary E. Altman. My Grandmother, Pencey Mae Davis, married 1922 James Flynn in Jacksonville. My oldest aunt was born in Ybor City. James Flynn was military & moved a lot. Rest of kids born up north including my mother Margaret, but their family can be found in 1940 Census at Jacksonville. I was born in Port Charlotte.
James S. Davis enlisted in the FL 3rd regiment Co. A in 1861, was wounded in FL & continued to fight, being captured towards the very end of the war. imprisoned in Ohio & released in 1865 at the end of the war. I am a very lucky girl considering how many men were lost! Elias wasn't born until April. 19. 1871!
