Suggested edit: Ernest L. Ansley, born 1/19/1922 in Tarrant Co., TX. He died 2/26/2011. Parents were Mamie Lee Allmon and James Alexander Ansley. A Haslet High School grad, he took NYA training at Air Fields in TX. Dec. 7, 1941, he volunteered to serve at Hickam Army Air Base, Hawaii. In 1947 he came to Tinker Air Force Base as a civil service employee. Most of his years were spent in the Accessories Branch, retiring in 1981. He served on the Credit Committee at Tinker Federal Credit Union. He volunteered a lot in his lifetime serving as general construction superintendent for McKee Center, Skyline Urban Ministry; creating stained glass windows. He served over 50 years as an usher, leading mission teams, serving on many boards for his church, and dredging the lake for Blue Stem Lake Association. Preceded in death by parents; sister, Gladys; and brothers, Roy, Ray, George and Johnnie. He is survived by wife, Joy; son, Gene; daughter, Sarah; two granddaughters, Kim and Melissa; great-grandson, Braden; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Celebration of his life will be held Saturday 3/12/2011 at 1:00 pm at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 222 NW 15th St., OKC, OK 73103. His family thanks friends and neighbors who helped make his last years so special. Donations may be made to St. Luke's Church missions or Archives. Contributor: Adrian Martin (48705361).
