James was born on July 2, 1947 in Laurel, Mississippi.
James was an E-5 Sgt. in the USMC and served in the Vietnam War.
James was a 30-year veteran of the Mesquite Fire Dept. He received several firefighter awards and reached the rank of Captain and Arson Investigator before retiring in 2003.

He was preceded in death by his Father: Victor Virean Ardis
Brothers: Dennis and Buddy.
James was a Man known for his Generosity, Love, Integrity, Hard work and Dedication to his family and work. He was highly respected by his peers and Loved by anyone who knew him. He loved and served the Lord and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
