A native of San Diego and a 1979 graduate of Granite Hills High School, Mr. Weitl was an employee of San Diego Gas & Electric Co. and a member of the Electrical Workers Union 465.
Survivors include his wife, Laura of El Cajon; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Weitl of El Cajon; two sisters, Diana Bridges of El Cajon and Debra Carlin of Alpine; three brothers, Frank, John and Burt, all of El Cajon; maternal grandfather, Arcadio Nunez of San Diego; and paternal grandmother, Ethel Duckworth of Nevada.
The Paris-Frederick Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
