Billie Joyce Patterson, age 86 of Albany, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, Monday, April 22nd at Friendship Baptist Church with Pastor Paul Johnston officiating. Interment will follow in Albany Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.
Billie Joyce Atwood was born April 6, 1933 in Callahan County to parents Ben Atwood and Loma Irwin Atwood. Billie married Bill Edington on June 24, 1949, he preceded her in death in 1978. She later married Guy Patterson on July 27, 1984. She was self-employed and owned her own dress and gift shop, Desperados in Albany for 25 years. Billie was a member of Friendship Baptist Church, as well as The Albany Lioness Club and Beta Sigma Pi. She was a devoted Mavericks fan, especially of Dirk Nowitzki. Billie was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Bill Edington, Guy Patterson; and two sisters, June Hughes and Wanda Anderson.
Mrs. Patterson is survived by her children, Malecia Becker and husband Gil of Fredericksburg, Treca Edington, Eddie Edington and wife Deneen, all of Albany; one sister, Jo Watson and husband Jack of Abilene; her one grandchild and the light of her life, Ethan Edington and wife Malia; two great grandchildren, Caitlyn Patterson and Charlee Patterson; one niece, Vanda Draper and husband Wyndle; and special friends, Helen Cook, Mariann Walshack, Wanda Merryman and Don and Glenna Green.
