George C. Lawton, 82, Englewood, FL, died May 19, 2004. He was born Jan. 29, 1922, in Denmark, NY, and came to Englewood in 2002 from Watertown, NY. He served in the Army during World War II. He was the co-owner and operator of Lawton Salvage Company in Watertown for over 50 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church, the Lincoln League, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, all in Watertown.

Survivors include [redacted], 19 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at a later date at First Baptist Church in Watertown, NY, with inurnment in Brookside Cemetery. Lemon Bay Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Englewood is in charge.
