Jose Abaonza Guillen resident of Oxnard passed away August 26, 2016 at age 65 battling cancer.
He was born on November 26,1950 in Michoacan, Mexico. He spent his childhood life in Mexicali, Baja California in which he graduated in the mechanic industry.
Jose came to the United States of America with his Mother Ramona Abaonza Guillen in the year 1971 and lived in Oxnard, California. Jose was the oldest of 7 children. His dad would take him to work in Ojai, California in the Apple fields. Then shortly after he worked in the mechanic shop at Tony's transmission on 5th street in Oxnard and that's where he met the love of his life, his wife, Clementina Lopez Mora.
Jose is survived by his 3 children, Wendy A. Melena (Juan Melena), Octavio Abaonza, and Nancy Abaonza, 5 grandchildren, Pedro Melena, Jose Antonio Melena, Evette Evangelina Melena, Juan Angel Melena, Khloe Kimberly Melena and 14 loving nephews.
Visitation will be held from 4:00p.m. to 10:00p.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2016 with a rosary to be recited at 7:00p.m. at the Garcia Mortuary Chapel in Oxnard. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00a.m. on Friday, September 2, 2016 at Santa Clara Church. Interment to follow at Santa Clara Cemetery.
