Gusta Irene Barnett, 87, of 291 W. Clinton St., Equality, died 2:15 a.m. Friday, Aug. 25, 2006, at Fountain View Nursing Home, Eldorado.

Services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006, at Vickery Funeral Chapel in Equality with the Rev. James R. Hubbard officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Equality. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, 2006, at the funeral home.

She was born July 28, 1919, in Cave-In-Rock to the late William and Sarah (Porter) Leonberger.
She was a homemaker.

She is survived by a son, Harlin David (Jean) Barnett of Murphysboro; two sisters, Virgie Barnett of Junction and Leta Maynard of Shawneetown; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Donald Ray Barnett; a sister, Lena Nelson; and several brothers, George, Warren, James, Epps and William Leonberger.
