John Lucius Scott, Sr., 60, of Dripping Springs, Texas went home to be with the Lord on July 29, 2016. John was a jack of all trades and he could do anything from ranching to welding to surveying. He was a hard worker and excelled at what he did. John was notorious for his countless jokes and pranks. He was always the life of the party and there was never a dull moment. John valued spending time with his friends of all ages. He was known for his story-telling and deep wisdom. Above all, John cherished his family and his kids were his pride and joy. He loved raising his kids and called them miracles from God. His relationship with his wife was one of a kind as she was his very best friend. John was preceded in death by his mother, Bessie Scott; his brother, Rick, and his sister, Patricia. He was survived by his father, W.R. Scott; his sister, Susan Hawk (David); brother, Robert (Diane); his sister-in-law, Rachel Bone; his wife of 35 years, Samara Scott; his kids, John Jr., Jessie, and Janie (Travis). He also left behind his nieces, Patricia, Sharee, Kaylee, and Grace; and nephews, Austin and Luke. The family will received friends from 6-8 PM on Tuesday at Harrell Funeral Home in Dripping Springs. Funeral services were held on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Dripping Springs First Baptist Church. Burial followed at Fitzhugh Cemetery.
