Mary Louise (Klamet) Seufert, 96, Tonganoxie, KS, passed away Tuesday July 26, 2016.

Mary’s parents, Louis Klamet and Florence Gail Klamet, emigrated immigrant from Germany and married after coming to the United States. Mary, the third of ten children, was born on March 14, 1920 on the Klamet family farm near Bonner Springs, KS.

She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church-Tonganoxie. Mary married her husband, Louis A. Seufert, Jr. on Decemeber 12, 1938. She worked the family farm raising livestock and tending a large garden every year.

She worked at Hercules Army Ammunition Plant during the Korea and Vietnam eras. Mary was an excellent cook and shared her skills at a variety of local establishments.

She created numerous projects for family, friends, and charity using her seamstress, fine hand sewing and crochet skills.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ruth Ann and her husband, Louis. Survivors include her son, Louis (Linda) Seufert, Tonganoxie; three sisters, Teresa Griffin, near Buffalo, NY, Regina Jennings, Bonner Springs, KS and Ruth Martin, Kansas City, KS; three grandchildren, Michael Seufert, Leavenworth, KS, Susan (Troy) Bastion, Arma, KS, and Christopher (Angel) Seufert, Parkville, MO; and four great grandchildren Tori Bastion, Nic Bastion, Alyssa Seufert and Ava Seufert. The family will receive friends Saturday July 30, 2016 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. with Rosary at 10:30 and Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. all at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Tonganoxie. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Leavenworth. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Sacred Heart Catholic Church-Tonganoxie.
